Milestones
Two decades of vertical craft
- 1876
Franz Reuleaux, the "Father of Modern Kinematics", represents Germany at the 6th World Expo in Philadelphia and delivers the speech that begins the rebirth of German manufacturing.
- 1880
Mr Reuleaux is invited by Otis to carry out a safety assessment of the lift it was then testing.
- 2004
LEO's team partners with a lift brand of 70 years' standing, taking on the concepts, manufacturing technique and management system of the original German factory.
- 2008
Answering an order from Germany, LEO and the team customise 11 high-end villa lifts for the Royal Family of Dubai.
- 2009
The first villa lift with a right-angle opening door built on German technology is developed for the Chinese market — and is still in good working order today.
- 2013
The first lift jointly designed by the LEO team and a German company, mass-produced in China, passes every certification and enters service in Germany.
- 2015
Exhibits at the International Lift Exhibition in Augsburg; receives German TÜV Rheinland certification.
- 2019
Founder LEO establishes Suzhou Franz Intelligent Elevator Co., Ltd. with a core team holding 15 years of German lift experience.
- 2022
Phase II plant and R&D centre become operational in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu.

FRANZ lifts serve homes across China, Russia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, backed by 70 experience centres nationwide.
