The challenge
Bedrooms sat directly beside the shaft on two levels, so running noise at night was the deciding factor for the owners.
Our approach
The G1's permanent-magnet gearless machine and steel-belt drive run without a gearbox, and the silent control cabinet was sited away from the sleeping wing.
At Lakeside Royal Garden the specification came down to a single question the owners asked at every showroom they visited: how loud is it at two in the morning?
Two of the four levels have bedrooms sharing a wall with the shaft. The Youjia G1 answers this at the mechanical level — a permanent-magnet gearless machine has no gearbox to whine, and the polyurethane-coated steel belts run quieter than conventional ropes. During commissioning we also relocated the control cabinet away from the sleeping wing.
The cabin itself was finished in brushed bronze with leather-look panels, picking up the metalwork used through the rest of the house. Machine-room-less construction kept the rooftop terrace free — a condition of the community’s design code.
